Hi Guyss,

Lets do a Foreign Update! libertyalliance_biggrin.gif

By announcing it here, I would love it everyone nominated themselves to write about something that is happening within the region, something that has happened historically or just something that you love about NS...

Let's make it a joint effort. As this is YOUR region YOU should have a say on what goes into YOUR FA UPDATE!

Add to this topic or message me or telegram me with ideas!

I want this to work, we can even include a comic etc.

So, what do you think of this as an idea?

QUOTE (GRO)
INVITATION

I have a proposal about launching a round the world yacht race for Yggdrasilians and Valhallans. Would Liberty Alliance, Texas, and TBM be interested?

What it will involve:

- A 16 day event.

- 10 destinations. All destinations are named after real life ports (which I will create)

- Nations will create nations with their favorite ship/yacht names and assemble at a designated starting Port-of-Call.

- Every 1.5 days, I will disclose the name of the next destination at a random time. This will be posted on the WFE of the preceding port. (For example, if the next destination is Port D. The name of Port D will be posted on C's world factbook entry)

- The first 'ship' that moves into that Port is the winner and gains 5 points. The next ship gains 4 points, and the third ship gains 3 points.

- All other ships that arrive later gains 1 point.

- Friendly banter are encouraged on the RMB of each region (destination).

At the end of the event (total 10 destinations), the points are tallied. The winner is the ship with the most points.

All participants will receive a commemorative pin (icon).

Thank you.  :bow

~GRO~

If you want to come I need to know by the 31st!

Sorry for the late notice,

Thank you

We have a new government!

Hi, my name is Flowering Staplers (as if you don't know who I am) and I am your new Prime Minister. I feel excited about a difficult term to come ahead but more about that later. All the positions that have been decided on can be seen in the header. A note that the WA-delegate needs to be confirmed by the EC so that Nurm can serve two positions. In this trying time of inactivity this looks to be the best solution to myself being both the Founder and WA-delegate.

All admin to do with elections should be completed within the next 24 hours. New and returning members to the EC will eventually have their own topics within the Council to use at their pleasure. Please feel free to message me any questions you may have. As PM that is my role, to guide you along a path of more nations and activity.

Thank you

Flowering Staplers

Hi,

Full elections are currently going on in the Election Forum, why not go and nominate yourself for something? Each position is important in different ways, read up on what you might have to do as that position and nominate yourself for several positions if you so wish libertyalliance_smile.gif

Any questions you can PM or telegram myself.

After many days celebrating the works of Finavarra on this world we call Nationstates, in the spirit of giving him a warm goodbye after his decision of dedicating all his time to his studies and RL stuff.

Good luck Fin-Fin! See you around!

Now it's time for us to continue his work, knowing that we must also build a region for the ones to come.

All member nations please report to the Liberty Square for reorganization.

One Love,
Prime Minister Viento Bonita

Honorable Flowering Staplers,

As you may have heard, the Council of Narnia was recently the victim of a senseless and deplorable act of destruction when Rougiers deleted every post on our forums. This cowardly act has been denounced around the Nationstates world. Many offers for aid and even more condolences flooded Narnia in the days and weeks following. I cannot express my gratitude for that enough.

When the attack occurred, I vowed that Narnia would bounce back, stronger than before. The High Council of Narnia has since put in many hours of hard work rebuilding our forums. That task is now complete, but there still remains one more thing to do.

If you would join us on our forums, The Council of Narnia will be hosting a huge party like Nationstates has never seen over the course of 5 days, running from July 16 through July 20. This is a celebration of honor and justice, as we laugh in the face of the likes of Rougiers, who do not even comprehend what qualities such as honor and valor are. This party will serve as a strong message to all of Nationstates that acts of destruction will not be tolerated, or successful.

This party will have many different aspects to it. Here is a rough schedule of events:
-July 16- welcoming celebration, tournament sign ups*
-July 17- opening of new role-play forums, tournament: opening rounds*
-July 18- tournament continued*
-July 19- tournament finals*, change in CoN government
-July 20- farewell celebrations

*More information on the tournament can be obtained on our forums, and you can even sign up now.

It is my hope that you and many from you region will be able to make it for at least some part of this celebration. Feel free to come over early too! Our forums can be found at: http://s3.zetaboards.com/Council_of_Narnia/index/ See you soon!

In His Roar!
The Narnian Fox Kingdom of Fotar, Lord Chancellor of the Council of Narnia

We have been invited, who wants to go and I can give advance idea of numbers tongue.gif

The 4th Annual Defender Awards are due to start on January 9th this year. All are welcome to participate in the nominations, voting, and general discussion which arises from the awards.

The Defender Awards will be lasting for a month - with 2 weeks of nominations, starting on the 9th, followed by 2 weeks of voting. 3 days after the voting is complete, the results will be announced.

The Awards are hosted by the FRA, and can be found here.

This year, as an addition, we are going to be having several interviews with past winners of awards, as well as (hopefully) some of those whom the awards are named after.

The awards are as follows:
[hr]
The EuroSoviets Award

The EuroSoviets award is given to the nation who is viewed by the NS community as the one nation who has helped the defender cause the most in the last year.
[hr]
The Ananke Award

The Ananke Award is giving to those nations who spend their own time looking out for any invasions that are taking place. This normally means staying up till very late and sacrificing their sleep for the greater good.
[hr]
The Anarchotopia Award

This award is given to the organisation which has proved the most successful in preventing invasions.
[hr]
The Eagles Disobey Award

This award is given to a particular region which has done its utmost to keep free regions free.
[hr]
The Blackbird Award

A special award that is given to the invader group which the NS community considers the best out there due to whatever reason.
[hr]
The Sir Lans Award

Newly re-named, the old 'Updater of the Year Award' is for the person who has been involved in more update missions than any other, and has shown dedication to be there if they are needed.
[hr]
The Operation of the year

The mission which stands out from all others from the last year due to the success, the numbers involved or any other reason.
[hr]
The Best newcomer Award (for region, nation, organisation)

Given to the region, nation or organisation which has appeared within the last year, and impressed the defender community the most.
[hr]
The Dipes Award

Given to the nation whom has best served the Intelligence cause.
[hr]
The Worst Invasion Award

The award given to the operation which was classed as the worst invasion due to defender mistakes, invader cunning or any other reason.
[hr]
The Best Defender Quote

A light hearted award, given to the nation whose quote or motto has been considered strange, funny or different.
[hr]
The Meltdown of the Year Award

Given to a nation, region or organisation which has self imploded in spectacular (and often hilarious) style.
[hr]
The Lifetime Achievement Award for Dedication to Defending

The award given to the nation who has been a dedicated servant to the defender cause for many years, often sacrificing different luxuries in order to help as much as they can.
[hr]

Again, all are welcome to attend - even neutrals & invaders. Visit the FRA forums to attend.

> MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
Posted by Zgraja - 12-25-09 14:05 - 3 comments
'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house

Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse;

The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,

In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there;

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,

While visions of sugar-plums danced in their heads;

And mamma in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap,

Had just settled down for a long winter's nap,

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,

I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.

Away to the window I flew like a flash,

Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow

Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below,

When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,

But a miniature sleigh, and eight tiny reindeer,

With a little old driver, so lively and quick,

I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick.

More rapid than eagles his coursers they came,

And he whistled, and shouted, and called them by name;

"Now, Dasher! now, Dancer! now, Prancer and Vixen!

On, Comet! on Cupid! on, Donder and Blitzen!

To the top of the porch! to the top of the wall!

Now dash away! dash away! dash away all!"

As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,

When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky,

So up to the house-top the coursers they flew,

With the sleigh full of toys, and St. Nicholas too.

And then, in a twinkling, I heard on the roof

The prancing and pawing of each little hoof.

As I drew in my head, and was turning around,

Down the chimney St. Nicholas came with a bound.

He was dressed all in fur, from his head to his foot,

And his clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot;

A bundle of toys he had flung on his back,

And he looked like a peddler just opening his pack.

His eyes -- how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!

His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!

His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,

And the beard of his chin was as white as the snow;

The stump of a pipe he held tight in his teeth,

And the smoke it encircled his head like a wreath;

He had a broad face and a little round belly,

That shook, when he laughed like a bowlful of jelly.

He was chubby and plump, a right jolly old elf,

And I laughed when I saw him, in spite of myself;

A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,

Soon gave me to know I had nothing to dread;

He spoke not a word, but went straight to his work,

And filled all the stockings; then turned with a jerk,

And laying his finger aside of his nose,

And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose;

He sprang to his sleigh, to his team gave a whistle,

And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.

But I heard him exclaim, ere he drove out of sight,

"Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night."

Hello,

Liberty Alliance has now refounded! *cue party poppers etc.*

This now means that you can now move back to your home, Liberty Alliance, and join the party on the RMB. At the moment we are announcing what place we have moved back in. I hold 2nd place. Fin just about beat me! tongue.gif

This now means that all recruiters can now (officially) begin recruiting. Including the Executive Council *looks sternly at EC members*.

A huge thank you to Finavarra, who without him, I might have had to be founder D:

Party time I think.
